If you believe in positive thinking,
please send some positive vibes for the earnest young collar neck dove who, for
more than a week, has been flying from the telephone pole outside the living
room window high up into the air and then in a grand circle back to the
pole. This is how the males try to
attract a female. He is a gorgeous, fit, hard working dove. What is wrong with the female doves? Why aren’t they flocking to him? I fear there aren’t many in this area
therefore his prospects if he continues from the same spot may be bleak. In any case, send him some “Best of luck with
finding your mate” wishes if you like.

These docs contain observations on German coastal defenses. A note, file #214, is included between the
two reports, but it’s not clear which report it refers to, so I posted it at
the end.
The dove wants a mate so much. When he
takes a break from flying he perches on the power line by himself, looking very
lonely. This is what we hope for him:
Don't
give up, dove!
